[tex]0,75x + 1,25y = 13[/tex]
Înlocuim:
[tex]0,75(12 - y) + 1,25y = 13[/tex]
[tex]9-0,75y+1,25y=13[/tex]
[tex]0,5y=13-9[/tex]
[tex]y = 4 : 0,5 \Rightarrow y = 8[/tex]
[tex]x = 12 - 8 \Rightarrow x = 4[/tex]
Metoda falsei ipoteze
☆ Presupunem (pornim de la ipoteza falsă) că dulceața a fost ambalată numai în borcane de 1,25 kg. În acest caz, cantitatea este:

☆ Dar au fost și borcane de 0,75 kg. Cantitatea obținută dacă toate borcanele ar fi de 1,25 kg este diferită de cantitatea dată în problemă:
