Într-o proporție produsul mezilor = produsul extremilor.
Ex : [tex] \dfrac{a}{b} = \dfrac{c}{d} \Longrightarrow a \cdot d = b \cdot c[/tex]
Unde a, d - extremi; b, c - mezi
Aplicăm pe proporția noastră și obținem :
[tex] \dfrac{7}{5} = \dfrac{x}{15} \Longrightarrow 5x = 7 \cdot 15 [/tex]
[tex] 5x = 105 \: \: \Big| : 5 \Longrightarrow \boldsymbol {x= 21} [/tex]
